Buckingham Palace

We went to London on July 7 just to fly to Moscow, taking as usual the National Express coach and alighting at Golder's Green. We looked around for someplace to have breakfast but couldn't find anyplace open at such an early hour, so got on to the tube to Heathrow. When we got to Heathrow we learned from the waiting room TV that London transport was largely shut down. Only five hours later, in Zurich, would we learn that we had travelled through central London just an hour before the transit bombings of July 7, 2005, If we'd eaten breakfast or otherwise been unlucky we might have been among the victims.
