In the 18th and 19th centuries Americans talked about the "vanishing Indian" and Australians about the "vanishing Aborigine." Today it is is an open question if the Afrikaner is a vanishing species in South Africa. Will the Africans language survive? Will their descendants — that is white Afrikaners — still be there in one hundred or even 50 years? We saw evidence for both. We saw place names go one by one, museums that celebrated Afrikans point of view converted to the African view. Afrikans Language Museum. Voortreker Museum.
This Page is a place holder for a future description of what we visited and saw. We'll also add some photographs.
