We made several visits to Chiang Mai. The first ones were made in a group which did not leave us enough time to wander at leisure. So we came back for five days by ourselves. Part of that time was spent getting annual medical checkups and part of it was spent in the area 100+ km to the south, which we got to by rented car.

Below are two photos of one of the many temples that we visited while in Chiang Mai.  Although it is difficult in retrospect to separate each from the other in our minds, we have to say that even so, every one was well worth visiting.  They are all different and yet of course all are similar.

This wonderfully ornate temple is called Wat Suan Dok and is located on the grounds of Chiang Mai University. We visited it with Pi Dom and Pi Bol after a most delicious lunch of Khao Soi (noodles).
