Forbidden City Interior Gate

We visited the Forbidden City twice,if you just count the times we went inside, for we passed in front of the main gate many a time and were also along the other walls multiple times. And, rarely for us, we (or at least Gerry) had studied the inside before we arrived. That's because his former office mate went there while both worked at Lucent. Yiqing came back with a large color photograph book that really enticed Gerry.

Our first visit inside was in our first week in Beijing, about September 16. The second time was in late October, just before we left for six weeks of travel around China. Our first visit was warm but the light was hazy. The reverse held for our second visit: it was so cold that we ran for cover whenever we could. But the light was brilliant and we got some fine pictures.
