Polish Currency

We arrived in Poland rather unexpectedly and had a delightful time there. We ended up here after we gave up going to Russia (this time around) because the visas, etc, cost just too much for the few weeks we would have there.

The two cities of Krakow and Wroclaw were jewels. They had so many things that pleased us. We followed the advice of a friend whose family came from Poland  and went to Zakopane, the gateway to the Tatras, and really liked that too. We had two hikes that gave us some terrific views.

And of course, we couldn't visit this part of Poland without going to visit Auschwitz and Auschwitz-Birkenau, two of the most horrific of the Nazi death camps. It was an emotional day. One that we won't forget.
