The Torpedo factory, the old homes, the cobblestone streets, the history of a town older than Washington and once larger than Georgetown, the old homes of the Lees and the new national headquarters of semi-important associations, all made it a worth while to spend a morning and part of the afternoon walking around Alexandria before we rushed off to New Jersey.
