Our initial impression of Manhattan was warmth. We had expected cold and were met by warm, a heat wave that would accompany us all through our month stay in the USA. In fact, our stay in the USA was bracketted by the two short stays in Manhattan, each on the couch of our friend Moshe Rozenblit. We had tried to get an apartment of our own as a sublet but that did not pan out.
