We rented our apartment from two artists who were off to Tokyo for three months on a fellowship. By agreement we arrived a few days earlier than originally planned and got to meet Nadine just before she went off to the airport. We were in Unit 2, on the north side of the ground floor; after a while we got to meet Carol and her new son, who lives on the south side of the ground floor. Our building has two floors and above us there were two more apartments. As you go into the front door you enter a very long coridor that takes you to the kitchen, at the rear of the building. As you go, first you pass the door to the second bedroom, set up as an office, then the first bedroom, where we of course slept, the the bathroom, and then the living room. All-in-all the place was very roomy, maybe 50% larger than Veronica's in Paris. The building was 1930s vintage and a bit rough for wear but we enjoyed it a lot.
