In what now seems a very fast nine weeks we went overland mostly be bus from Canakkale, Turkey to Darlington, England. Our route is shown by the beige lines and the places where we stayed by green circles. The cities we stayed (with number of nights in parentheses) are 

A few remarks: At one time we considered going from Bucharest through Moldova to Odesa. We're sorry that we missed both but the hassle and expense of getting visas for Moldova make us give up that idea. Subsequently we learned that Gerry's relatives who immigrated to the US six years ago used to live in Chsinau (capital of Moldova and just west of Odesa) and Mykileav, just two hours east of Odesa.
