Altogether, we spent 18 days in the state of Jalisco. We crossed the state border just north of Puerto Vallarta where we spent the next four days. From there we drove down to San Patricio de Melaque for another four days lazing at the beach From the coast, we drove inland toward Guadalajara. But our first stop was in Ajijic on the shores of Lake Chappala, the biggest freshwater lake in Mexico. From there it was only a short hop to Guadalajara , capital of the state and second largest city in Mexico and its surburbs of Zapopan , Tonala, and Tlaquepaque. When we finally tired of Guadalajara, we drove north toward Zacatecas . |
