We went to the theatre twice, once on Rue Gaite and once in the Latin Quarter. The rue Gaite show was a comedy and even Jan, in spite of all her experience, couldn't catch most of the jokes. The second, in the Latin Quarter, was a pair of Eugene Ionesco's absurdist plays. The most absurd thing was the heat and the lack of air-conditioning.
