"Nevada"
in Spanish means "Snowy Place".
We arrived having passed through the 119
F heat of Death Valley into the relative cool of 109 F in Las Vegas.
Before we left it had cooled down to around 90F in the day.
So you might
wonder why "snow" has anything to do with the name of Nevada.
But, in fact,
it does snow, and we saw snow while in Nevada. But back to the beginning.
