Say "Narita" and everybody thinks of Narita Airport. But before there was an Airport there was a Narita town (or village once upon a time). In 1978 we'd been among the first users of Narita Airport, going there on its second or third day of operation. This time we arrived at Narita airport and immediately went off to our lodgings in central Tokyo. But for our departure we decided to spend two nights in Narita and see what the town and its famous shrine were like.
